Linear house design by Zecc Architecten
Like the houses surrounding the historic farm, the house has a linear layout. The house was extended by the formation of upper floor into two separate elements that offset towards the front and back end. This produces a silhouette of a separate section which seems to stand out in the surrounding area. What color to distinguish the home from other countries around the house. Of course modern building materials that do work well, but the house is still a good example of how colors can create a unique home among others. Not only the Japanese architect who made the modern houses outside the black. Dutch architect from Zecc Architecten go the same patch with Villa Vriezenveen

The first step is to look around each room. Bring a note pad with you if you are serious about doing this. Make notes about any problem items; such as broken doors, light switches. Yes; the ‘honey do’ type list, but it gets much more detailed as you go.
Now look inside the closets. Yes; buyers look in closets to see if there is enough room. Mark in your pad whether the closet is neat or packed and needs some thinning out.
Bathroom is the next stop. Any broken tiles, dripping faucets, etc? Also is there any areas that need to really be cleaned? Look at this as though you were buying.
The kitchen is an important area. Is it cluttered with items all over the counters? Are the cabinets messy and over flowing? Clear out the items don’t use on a regular basis. Store them where can get to them; but not clutter a cabinet in doing so.

Having Fun With Home Design
Sunday, June 20, 2010
It's difficult to make a home your own and ensure it does not just take on a bland feel, but with these tips, you might find something that helps you put your mark, on your space.
1) Transfers
For those making the decision to paint a room, transfers on walls are available nearly everywhere nowadays. They need minimal skills to put up, minimal time to remove and add a dimension to rooms that is incredibly personal and can be good fun. They can also be used to brighten up current schemes.
2) Kids
For those who have small children in their life, kids are great when home design is in question. Think handprints on flowerpots, foot casts on the front door step, murals in bedrooms, bright and marine orientated family bathrooms. Kids give us the opportunity to make spaces a nice place to be and bright, especially their bedrooms and communal living areas.
3) Organization.
Books and DVDs can now be stored in a manner of dynamic and modern styles. Storage devices can add another an aspect to a room that leans towards the unconventional, while still carrying out their objective. Look online for some fantastic storage companies.
4) Color and Design
Don't be afraid to mix and match design and color. Remember these simple rules, no more than three colors or patterns to a room. Flowers on cushions work with others that are striped or of a totally different fabric for example. Colors work together if they are all from the same pallet, bright blue doesn't work with pastel green, but would work with another bright color. Experiment and don't be afraid to take your time.
5) Software helps.
There are software packages that help us design rooms at the touch of a button, why not give it a go and see what you come up with.
6) Run a theme throughout the house.
Rather than walking from one room to another and feeling like you are being shocked by your eyes in each, try and pick a theme and have the colors or style echo throughout your house in communal spaces. It means that the whole house ends up with a "feel" to it, rather than just one room being a little of one thing and another being a little of something else.
7) Take your time
Our homes are our sanctuary. Take your time, shop about and don't rush to buy cheaply if you can take the time to save a little more for something you really want, you'll be glad you did when you find it's still in your home years later. Ask for discounts when buying and don't be afraid to banter.
8) The great outdoors.
Try and make your outdoor space, however small, an extension of your home. You will find you will use it more if you like it and in time will benefit from being outdoors through an increased sense of wellbeing. Water features, small herb gardens and potted flowers all add to the sense of home.
Good luck and enjoy yourself, after all, isn't that what being at home is about?

Decorating Ideas For Your Teen's Room
If you have a teen, you will really need to get creative to give them their own space that they want to spend time in. It is likely that they will entertain their friends, play video games and chat on their computer, as well as sleep in their rooms. Teens can be very independent individuals and their rooms need to reflect their individuality even if they don't know what that is yet. Psychologically, teens have a strong need for approval from their peers, so it is crucially important for them to feel confident in having their friends come to their homes, and to show off a room they love. Finding a mix between what you, as a parent can afford, and what your teen wants can be a very difficult task.
Allow your teen to actively participate in the selection of colors for their room. Colors that stimulate one teen may or may not work for another so it is very important that they play an active role in making this choice. Have them pick out three or four complementary or contrasting colors they like. If yours is like most teens, they won't be able to decide which color they want. To remedy this stop by the paint store and ask them to provide you with samples or tiny cans of the colors your child likes. Go home and paint blocks of each of the colors on his or her wall. Leave them for several days and ask your teen to rule out colors instead of asking them to pick one. As they eliminate them, use a pencil to mark them out.
Once the main color is chosen have your teen choose the complimentary or contrasting colors. These other colors will be located on one wall of their room and in the accessories and decorative items in the room. Take the measurements of the room to the store and purchase the paint. Of the other colors chosen, pick up the little paint chips from the paint store. By keeping these paint chips with you it will be easier to select accessories for the room without having to guess whether they will match.
Find a medium shade of carpet for the room. Medium shades look cleaner longer and tend to hide stains better. You may even want to consider an indoor/outdoor carpet because it is better able to withstand a teenager's rough treatment. The furnishings for your teen's room can be painted to match no matter the kind of wood or style of the furniture. Aside from their bed, they will probably want a bedside table, a desk for homework and school projects, and a dressing table or vanity for a girl's room. Every teen will need plenty of shelves for books, games, trophies from sporting events or recitals and academic awards.
Do a little research on closet organizers to make sure your teen's closet has plenty of shelves, and two closet bars. A shoe organizer in the closet floor will usually help to avoid other things being thrown on the closet floor. Paint the inside of the closet white and make sure it has decent lighting. Pick up other accessories as your teen finds things they like. Have fun with your child and their efforts to create the right room for them.

There is a better alternative for people wanting house designs Brisbane style. It is possible to have a unique design created to individual specifications at no cost to clients, and styled to suit every budget.
If you are considering designing and building a new home, here are some hints to help you make the whole process much easier:
Source a company with local experience that provides home designs Brisbane style free to clients.
When you discuss designs with them, ask if their design people interact with their construction team.
If they don't, your completed home may not look like you envisaged.
Ask to see a range of completed projects. To build house designs Brisbane style, the company will need to have experience in a wide variety of styles and concepts, from sleek ultra-modern to classical and old-world.

The company you choose should offer the standard Queensland Master Builders' Contract which, when properly completed and signed by all parties, is water-tight, with a fixed price so there are no unpleasant surprises.
Discuss the time-frame for the project. This will allow you to plan your finance requirements and any alternative living arrangements you may need while you are waiting to occupy your new home.

Bathroom Ideas
Monday, June 14, 2010
Whether your bathroom is large or small one thing is certain, you're going to have to spend money if you want an updated bathroom. How much money you need to spend depends to a certain extent on the size of your bathroom and how much updating you feel you need to do to give the look and feel you desire.
If you only have a couple hundred dollars to spend then generally you'll be limited to mostly cosmetic changes such as paint, hardware and accessories. Though this may not be much money to spend, don't discount the effect that a new coat of paint, some new hardware on the doors and drawers, and some additional accessories such as an inexpensive prints or new towel racks may have on your bathroom. Often that is all that is necessary to give your bathroom a very fresh and updated look.

Next, add items that will help relax, whether you are getting ready for your day, or relaxing in a nice hot bath at the end of day. Try having a radio/CD player to listen to music to get going or unwind before going to bed. Candles are also nice if you want to have the soft light and pleasant scents while are relaxing in the tub. Also, try using baskets or glass jars to place on the sink or on the shelf, to neatly store items which are used often. Make-up, cotton balls, and wash cloths, should be stored neatly with easy access. Having these items clutter bathroom will not make space a relaxing one.
If you are decorating a bathroom for children, you will want brighter colors. If it is a uni-sex bathroom, I prefer soft green colors to coordinate with both pinks and blues. There are so many themes to choose from, especially animal themes. Rubber ducks, garden animals, jungle animals, sea animals, or even bugs are very popular bathroom themes for children. Most have matching towels, rugs, shower curtains, and soap dishes.

Bathroom Interior Design
Hotel inspired bathrooms can give the feeling of get-away luxury without ever leaving home. Good lighting, clean lines, and marble surfaces make the bathroom attractive and uncluttered. A large mirror can expand the appearance of space. Other bathroom interior design ideas for a hotel-styled bathroom include monogrammed towels, attractive wallpaper, and crisp design elements.
When the bathroom is used and who will be using it will inform your bathroom interior design choices. A public powder room will be able to be more whimsical or dramatic, whereas a family bath must be more practical. Guest baths should create a welcoming and inviting space for people away from home. A master bathroom should encourage relaxation.
Be careful to choose materials that will not be damaged by water and humidity for your bathroom interior design. Wallpaper can be used in some bathrooms, but in other, the high humidity can cause it to peel and fall off. Tile is a popular choice for a bathroom, but can be damaged if your bathroom is high traffic. A good substitute for traditional tiles is vinyl tile, which can look just like ceramic or marble, but is not as easily broken. Wood cabinets are popular as well, but again, should be careful to make sure they will not be susceptible to water damage. swell, warp, and crack in humid environments.

Home Curtain
The best time to do curtain cleaning is during a sunny day. Remove all the curtains in the house and put them in the washer. To save time, you can clean your windows while the curtains are being washed. Most curtains can be washed using delicate cycle but for drapes, may have to buy a commercial cleaner where in you can spray on. Remember not to force drapes in the washer without removing the metal hangers. In addition, make sure that washer can stake the load capacity of the drapes. are in doubt, it is best to do homemade dry cleaning to clean the heavy material of the drapes. In this way, do not have to take down the drapes.
One of the enemies of curtain for home is cigarette smoke. If there are smokers in your home, probably have to clean curtains every three months. The soft fabric of the curtains can be affected by nicotine in cigarettes. In addition, home will smell like smoke if just washed curtains. It is necessary to use fabric softener on curtains during the rinsing process. This way, curtains will smell nice.

Interior Living Room
Whether room is a 21 foot length with a large picture window at one end or live in a tiny apartment and the living room is bijou to say the least, there are living room décor ideas to suit and budget. can go for cozy chic and warm up living space or go for open-plan with vaulted ceilings and an expanse of herringbone hardwood floor. At the end of space have available. Are aiming for a peaceful retreat, full of serenity and harmony or a more user-friendly, basic living space where feel comfortable slipping shoes off and putting your feet up. was choosing a color scheme for my living room I would go to the cooler colors on my color wheel chart - the blues and greens which can be used in different shades to achieve a 'joined-up' look of cool elegance. make sure that, when my ceiling, light shade of the room's main color on my ceiling so, color scheme was blue, would use the lightest eggshell blue find for my ceiling and then a slightly deeper shade of blue for my walls. If have mouldings could paint those completely white, or go for a darker shade of blue to both the walls and the ceiling. use matt paint on my walls and a paint with some kind of sheen on the mouldings. For windows, to add height, place the curtain pole as high as possible near to the ceiling. This will give curtains plenty of drop to achieve an elegant drape. Modern décor arrangements always suggest that the fabric should be allowed to pool on the floor - never in my house. To me, artistic though it evidently is, this 'pooling' idea for the fabric is just a dust collector and, if have dogs like I do, is just asking them to make a bed out of the fabric! Why did I mention this? Find out what the trends are, but that does not mean have to follow the trends slavishly. Adapt styles to suit you and your lifestyle.

Before you begin tearing down the walls, it makes sense to talk over the design plans with your partner, if have one. A romantic bedroom should reflect both people’s ideals.
Add some personal flavor that touch both of at the same time. Pictures from a vacation or a picnic or from a romantic getaway can be great. House Interior Design
Different periods in history reflect very different interior designs. This article looks at the key characteristics of the most popular dolls house periods from 1714 to the early 1900’s and will help to ensure house looks its period best! This style focused on harmony and symmetry using pale colour schemes and delicate furniture to produce a room that was airy and light. Floors were often bare with oriental style rugs although grander houses may have had stone or marble flooring. Walls were panelled but often only reaching dado height with the top being papered or painted. Wallpaper were made using simple repeat patterns although towards the later half of this period they were also block printed often in stripes or simple shapes. Furniture was delicate and sofas with a hoop back were typical. Fireplaces were the focal point of the room and should be elegant with basket grates. Pictures were hung in formal groups to flank the fireplace and other ornaments would have included porcelain, fans and lacquer work. The Victorians used theirs homes as a reflection of their status. It was an age of imitation and reproduction with many styles influencing interior design from Gothic to Rococo. For the dolls house enthusiast this means lots of ornaments, overstuffed chairs and sofas, and patterned wallpapers and carpets.

New Home Interior
No matter if the small room is a bedroom, the living room or kitchen, several basic principals need to be followed for the perfect home interior. One – Keep clutter to a minimum. This may mean buying drawer organizers to keep “things” neat in their places in a drawer instead of on a countertop. Buy a bookshelf to stack books up instead of on the floor or table. Limit the amount of knick knacks to only what fits comfortably on current shelving. Keep only what need. haven’t used it, worn it, opened it, tried it, tasted it or needed it in 18 months, get rid of it. This helps keep the clutter under control also. To cosmetically alter the appearance of a small room, cover the walls with a light color, such as beige, cream, pale yellow, mauve or pastels. Light colors reflect light from the sun and lamps, thus making a room appear more open and roomier. A white or very pale beige on the ceiling also reflects back more light and enlarging the presence. Dark colors can make a room feel closed in and small from limiting the light sources. Light colored rugs or carpeting also extend the appearance of a larger area.
